Public HTTPS tunnels for developers & AI agents

Bring localhost online.

Give the app on your machine a public HTTPS URL in a couple of commands. Share work in progress, receive webhooks, or let your coding agent connect a tunnel you approve.

Use cases

One link for whatever is running locally

  • Share local apps

Send teammates a link to the app running on your laptop. No deploy, no staging server, no router changes.

  • Test webhooks

Point Stripe, GitHub, Slack, or any webhook sender at a public HTTPS URL and debug the callback on your own machine.

  • Demo to clients

Show work in progress on a real HTTPS link during a call, then stop the tunnel the moment you are done.

  • AI agents & automation

Let a terminal-capable coding agent install the CLI and bring a tunnel online after you approve it in your browser. Every agent command can return JSON.

  • SSH & TCP by approval

Need SSH, a database, or another TCP service? Request TCP access from support. Requests are reviewed individually and use your tunnel allowance.

Trust & security

Straightforward about how it works

PortLark is built for development, testing, and demos. There is no uptime guarantee, so do not rely on it for critical production workloads.

Automatic HTTPS at the edge
Every HTTP tunnel gets an HTTPS URL with a managed certificate. HTTPS terminates at the PortLark edge, so it is not end-to-end encryption to your app.
Encrypted client connection
The PortLark client connects to our servers over TLS, so traffic between the edge and your machine is not sent in plain text.
WebSockets
HTTP tunnels pass WebSocket upgrades through, so live-reload dev servers and realtime apps can work through your public URL.
Scoped, revocable client tokens
The CLI authenticates with a client token instead of your password. Agent credentials are limited to the tunnel you approve, and you can revoke tokens from the dashboard.
Browser-approved agent pairing
An agent requests access and you confirm the pairing code in your browser. It never needs your password, and you choose which tunnel it can run.
Windows, macOS, Linux & Raspberry Pi
Native CLI builds for x64 and ARM, including 64-bit and 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS. Installers verify SHA-256 checksums.
Servers in New York
Tunnel and application servers run in New York, United States. Visitors far from the US East Coast may notice extra latency.
Billing by Stripe
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. PortLark never stores your card number, and you can cancel renewal from the billing portal at any time.
Operated by a registered company
PortLark is operated by SHU MEI INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES CO., LIMITED, a Hong Kong company. Contact us at support@portlark.com.

Frequently asked questions

What is PortLark?

PortLark gives a service running on your computer a public HTTPS URL on tunnel.portlark.com. You run the PortLark client next to your local app, and visitors reach it through PortLark's servers in New York, United States.

Is PortLark free?

Every new account gets a 30-day free trial with 1 tunnel and no credit card. After the trial, PortLark is a paid service with monthly plans. Current prices are on the Pricing page.

What happens when the trial ends?

Your tunnel stops until you choose a plan. Nothing is charged automatically, because the trial never asks for a payment method. Tunnel resources are kept for a seven-day retention period, after which your subdomain may be released. Subscribing does not restart the trial.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Paid plans renew monthly until canceled. Cancel renewal from Plans and billing in your dashboard, and access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Refund rules are described in the Terms of Service.

Is my traffic encrypted?

Visitors connect to PortLark over HTTPS, and the PortLark client connects to our servers over TLS. HTTPS terminates at the PortLark edge, so this is not end-to-end encryption between the browser and your local app. Use application-level authentication for anything sensitive.

Do you support TCP or SSH?

Yes, by approval. Email support@portlark.com to request TCP access; requests are reviewed individually. Approved TCP tunnels use the same tunnel allowance as your plan, and a paid plan does not approve TCP automatically.

Can I use my own domain?

Not currently. Tunnels use a subdomain on tunnel.portlark.com. Customer-owned domains are not included in any plan.

Which operating systems are supported?

The CLI runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux on x64 and ARM, including Raspberry Pi. Install it on the same machine, or the same network, as the service you want to share.
